21. That Both Candidates Are Behind Us

I wasn't sure if I was going to post today because I feel like death warmed over, but a trip to UNCW reminded me of an easy topic: tomorrow's runoff election.

I am beyond happy to announce (and still quite surprised) that both candidates fighting for the Democratic Nomination for US Senate are pro-equality. I'm not going to post, who I'm voting for or try to influence any potential voters with the post, but I am happy to say that both candidates are both looking at--and worth schlepping yourself to the polls for.

I urge everyone to look closely at Elaine Marshall and Cal Cunningham in order to make an educated decision.

PRIDE was established on campus in 1986 as the Gay and Lesbian Association to meet the needs of the LGBTIQA community. PRIDE is a UNCW student organization dedicated to the recognition of students, faculty, and staff who have individual and unique personalities and would like to discuss current social issues. We primarily deal with issues concerning lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and allied (LGBTIQA) communities.

For our community members who identify as such, we are an open safe-haven, resource center, and activist organization. And we really like to talk!

We whole-heartedly believe in the power of words. And while all of our members are not as outspoken as others, we encourage the presence of all members at events so that we may all learn something from others.
